西联学校校徽设计外形为打开的书本,上部分结合了向日葵花瓣,表达了一种积极向上的成长力量。
书本是知识的象征,向日葵是向往光明之花,象征着健康、快乐、活力,追求积极的人生,永远有积极的心态。暗含了无论过去怎样,未来一定是阳光。二者相结合体现了学校的育人成长的精神。
在整体上,又表达了一种火种的概念,火种是一种希望,点燃一片沉睡的土地,在黑暗中照亮前行。教师是火种,点燃了学生的心灵之火;学校是火种,培育出一批又一批的栋梁之才。

校花:向日葵
学校的校花是向日葵,向日葵又叫太阳花,它可以在沙漠边缘等恶劣环境中生长。它面对恶劣环境而依旧保持坚忍不拔的品质和学校“刚毅坚卓”的校训相契合。它不忘初心,始终向阳而生,深刻地阐释了学校的愿景:一所风清气正的阳光学校。
向日葵花语为“沉默的爱,没有说出口的爱”。向日葵的象征是信念、光辉、高傲、忠诚、爱慕,此外在很多文化中向日葵是积极、力量、好运的象征。
向日葵的花姿虽然没有玫瑰的浪漫,没有百合的纯净,但它阳光、明亮,有着属于自己的独特魅力,它绽放的是对梦想、对生活的热爱。
The Mission: To Cultivate International Citizens with National
The mission of our school is a combination of the responsibilities from our country, nationality and society and the values that our school inherits. The mission is a lineage of the history, a calling of the time and a direction of the future.
Headmaster Mei Yiqi once instructed that we shall never forget our country when we are abroad; we shall never forget ourselves when we are in a fancy society; we must keep scientific attitude and pursue truth when we encounter difficulties during our studying.
The national responsibility is a historical and cultural inheritance of the family- country construction, the national spirit and patriotism. It means that we shall love our country, our groups, others, ourselves as well as the place where we were born. The national responsibility requires us to protect national interests at the critical moment and fight against other opposite forces at any time. Only by shouldering the responsibilities will we have a meaningful life.
Mankind sensibilities mean that we shall integrate our love to the nation, to one’s hometowns and to the country together. Mankind sensibilities require us to care about the overall interests of human beings, the prospect of the whole human civilization and the sustainability of human development. Mankind sensibilities are the spiritual core of which China, as a responsible power in the world, should obtain. At the same time, mankind sensibilities are the spirits and patterns which educators should have today. We should cultivate students with inclusive and open minds. We should help students construct and improve their personal life value systems. Mankind sensibilities will direct students to be qualified future citizens with abilities to settle down themselves.
International citizens are the concrete embodiments of the saying “the whole world is one community”. As international citizens, our students should be endowed with international perspective and global vision.

Our vision is that our school will always strive for and hope to achieve as well as a beautiful blueprint for all teachers and students.
Our aim is to run the education to the satisfaction of the people, the education that students love, teachers are proud of and government trusts. Our school also aims to facilitate the development of students’ self-esteem, self-discipline and to teach students to respect the teachers. We will encourage the public to pay more attention to the education and try to improve people's qualities. For teachers, they must be of ethic devotion, set up good examples for students and have ability of lifelong learning. They should treat students with love, concern and care for each student equally and sincerely. For Students, they should pay more attention to morality, ethics and strict discipline. And they should determine to acquire knowledge and be indifferent to fame and wealth. They should value friendship, unity and be of perspective of overall situation.

School Discipline: Fortitude and Perseverance, Harmony
The perseverance character means that a man should be persistent. That means they pursue goals all the time and keep passion that never fades. They stay true to the mission, adhere to their belief and have enough dedication. Self-motivation, self-restrain and self-adjust, that is, being persistent and tough in the face of difficulties.
Fortitude and perseverance require firmness and determination as well as strict self-discipline and bold practice. It means firm stand and decisive attitude as well as transcendence and extraordinary determination.
Fortitude and perseverance embody the charisma and unique spirit of NSAU (Lianda) people. They stick to the firm belief that “Studying is to save the country and saving the country with study”.
Harmony and coexistence are based on the recognition of contradictions and differences, the understanding of the opposites between different things as well as the mutual cooperation and joint development. It requires the adherence to principles while maintaining integrity, understanding and tolerance, seeking common ground while reserving differences, internal and external smoothness, cooperation and development; only symbiosis makes the country flourish; only a harmonious country makes a strong nation and prosperous people; only a harmonious world makes a peaceful international society.
School Spirit: Diversification, Inclusion, Pragmatism and Innovation
Diversification refers to the multi-respect under the overall pattern of the school. Inclusion means extraordinary tolerance, high realm, mature spirits and rich fulfillments inside hearts. Pragmatism is to respect science, pursue the truth, start from the reality, insist on the truth and make corrections. The students should be endowed with pragmatic spirits, thus making real results. At the same time, the students should have down-to-earth attitude and struggle bravely. Innovation sustains the progress of a nation as well as the driving force of national robust growth. The core of innovative thinking is to obtain divergent thinking and expand imagination. Students will be able to draw inferences about other cases from one instance and comprehend their knowledge by analogy. We expect the students to be able to propose extraordinary views in the future.
Teaching Principle: Speaking the Truth and Understanding the Way
Principal Jiang Menglin said, “The purpose of education is to enable individuals to enjoy the full happiness given by life. Besides, students should develop the ability of thinking critically and conducting bravely. The ability of thinking critically requires a clear mind and the courage to utter their thoughts whereas the ability of conducting bravely suggests students’ nation-concerned responsibility awareness and the willingness of shouldering the nation’s mission as their own mission. If this is the case, culture will increase and new ideas will bloom so that the majority of the people can enjoy cultural rights.”
Speaking the truth requires teachers to not only teach the knowledge from books, but also the laws of the universe, the society and life. Consequently, the barriers between secular life and spiritual life can be broken down so as to better students to integrate into the society. Understanding the way means understanding the rules and reasons of particular events. Understanding the way is to master the methods of dealing with things, which also means to learn and understand nature, the society and individuals as well.
Learning Style:Learning the Truth and Realizing the Truth
Learning the truth is to have the ability to learn. Learning the truth is to have the enthusiasm to learn. Learning the truth requires perseverance. Realizing the truth is to carry on the mission of learning. Realizing the truth means to be with unique insights. The realization of truth should be combined with reality and continuous practice. Learning truth should be guided by dreams, that is, bold imagination, careful verification and the exploration of truth. To realize the truth, we should use the guidance of work: fine in advance, fine in the process and fall in real results.
Educational objectives: Family-country Patriotism, International
“Educational objectives” refers to “what kind of people should we cultivate”. It indicates the spirits, temperament that students should possess. And it embodies the special requirement of “Establish morality and cultivate qualified persons”.
Family-country Patriotism: Students shall always maintain the ‘centripetal forces’ towards motherland and nationality, sense of pride and responsibility and voluntarily inherit, promote the traditional Chinese culture. Besides, students shall always possess the courage towards frustration and suffering and spirit power for remaining invincible perpetually.
International Views: Students shall always recognize, comprehend the world from various insights and aspects, and possess some universal values and world views without parochialism or pessimism. Finally, students shall be able to communicate, compete and cooperate deliberately.
Spirits of NSAU: Teachers, students of Affiliated School of Kunming NSAU Research Institute shall always conduct themselves in society just like the teachers and students of former NSAU, no matter what situation they are facing up to. And they shall also possess the patriotic sentiment of “Fortitude and Perseverance”, “Self-sacrifice”, and the academic spirits of “Harmony Coexistence”, “Lucubration”.
School Emblem
The school emblem of Affiliated School of Kunming NSAU Research Institute is designed as an opened book combined with an upper part of sunflower petals, expressing a positive, aspiring growth power.
Books are the symbols of knowledge and the sunflowers are the flower yearning for light, standing for health, happiness and vigor, pursuing aspirant lives, always having an endeavoring attitude, which also imply that the future would be propitious whatever the past was. The combined two symbols embody the pedagogical spirits of our school.
As a whole, the school emblem also conveys the conception of tinder, a hope, igniting a hibernating land and illuminating the path in the dark. The teachers are tinder, igniting the spiritual fire of students. The school is tinder, cultivating pillars of the society and nation incessantly.
School symbolic flower: Sunflower
The symbolic flower of our school is Helianthus annuus, which is also called sunflower and can grow in perishing environment like margins of deserts. The trait of sunflower that it maintains perseverance in the face of perishing environments fits well with our school motto “Fortitude and Perseverance, Harmony and Coexistence”. It never forgets why it started and always subsists facing to the Sun, which profoundly illustrates the vision of our school: a sunny school.
The flower language of sunflower is: wordless love. And the symbolism of the sunflower is faith, effulgence, pride, loyalty and affection. Besides, sunflower is also considered as the symbols of positivity, strength and good luck in many cultures.
Although sunflower is not so romantic as roses, not so pure as lily, it is sunny and bright and has its own glamour, which symbolizes the love and enthusiasm towards dreams and lives and chasing sunshine, chasing dreams.
